Review: Succubus Steam

I know it’s been awhile since I posted the first two in the Succubus Chronicles so let’s refresh your memory. Click on the corresponding pictures to see the reviews for the first two in the series.

                             4 STARS

A succubus half-breed, such as Violet, who hobnobs with the highest echelons of Victorian London society, is a bride in a difficult marriage of extremes. Any act that wants of propriety, and she would find herself banished to the wilds of Cornwall where her full-blooded succubus sisters live and thrive. Yet she prefers the company of mortals, even if she must occasionally risk her reputation by engaging in discreet sexual liaisons.

When Violet’s great uncle dies and bequeaths her his laboratory and home, she crafts an artificially intelligent automaton named Adam to sate her carnal needs. Her plan is coming along nicely until an incubus from her past, and the unwitting model for her invention, discovers her secret. Violet has good reason to be wary of losing her heart to Lyle, but perhaps Adam is the key to fulfilling all of her desires.

Be Warned: menage sex (MFM), anal sex, Adam is a very large, steam-powered sex toy

Now onto Succubus Steam. First, let me mention the cover. I just loved it. I have mad cover love for so many of Evernight’s books. They have a super fabulous cover artist. It almost makes me want to write a book just to see what kind of cover I would get *g* Ok, Yes, I am sidetracked. Succubus Steam is set during the Victiorian era. It focuses on steam powered devices. The heroine, Violet, is a succubus who is trying to build the perfect steam operated B.O.B. Like we haven’t all thought about inventing our own at some point. *giggles* Oh there is so much more to the story line but I don’t want to give too much away.

This is a fabulous sexy story that kept my interest and entertained me. I love Ms. Shaw’s Succubus Chronicles and this is yet another wonderful installment. Watching Violet teach her perfect man “Adam” what she wants is equal parts humor and sensuality. I really enjoyed this book. It kept my interest and transported me to Victorian England. I have to say of the three books so far in the series, I think this one is my favorite.  I highly recommend the Succubus Chronicles series.
