As the personal assistant to the owner of one of the top engineering firms in Denver, Tiffany Brooks has worked hard at maintaining a professional fa├žade, intent on ridding herself of terrible habits—like her attraction to bad boys. But when the owner of DC Construction rides his chopper into her world two years after their one-time anonymous sexual encounter, everything turns upside down.

Declan Cage is the type of guy who makes a lasting impression, especially with women, yet the gorgeous assistant at Stoub Engineering never remembers his name—or does she? Intrigued by her game, her sexier than sin body, and an infuriating prissy attitude, Ms. Brooks is begging to be taken into hand, and he’s the man to do it.

Armed with the knowledge Declan doesn’t recognize her, will Tiffany give in to her desire for him yet again, or will her past come back to haunt them both and ruin their chance at something real?

4 Stars

Where do I start with this? First of all, I am always happy at the chance to review a book by Ms. Saint James, so you can imagine my glee at seeing an ARC in my inbox. I loved this book so much I read it all in one sitting.  The characters had such depth and really spoke to me.  Tiffany had a very hard childhood and you could see how it had shaped her as an adult.  It affected her entire life and how she dealt with people especially men. Ms. Saint James did a wonderful job of portraying the character with all her quirks and flaws. And then there’s Declan. The mouthwatering portrait of a bad boy was equally painted with vivid brushstrokes of words. You could see his heart of gold behind his rough exterior and that just made you love him more.

Ms. Saint James did a superb job of drawing the reader in and making us care about the characters.  I found myself rooting for Declan and hoping he could break though Tiffany’s hard outer shell and convince her to trust again. I was really pulling for them.  Of course one of my favorite aspects of the book, besides the smoking hot yet tender sex scenes, was the aspect of mystery. I am a sucker for a book that has the added bonus of some suspense and I was thrown for a loop several times.  You knew something was coming but when it happened I was shocked with how it went down.

Did I mention the smoking hot sex? I’m not ashamed to admit there was a time or two that I wished I was Tiffany. I know we’ve all been there before and I’m thinking Declan might be my new book boyfriend. Of course he is in fierce competition with my current book boyfriend, Liam McAvery. And I sure do want to find out more about Declan’s mysterious brother, Ryker.  I’m hoping we might find out more about Ryker in the next book in this series.  Bottom line, this book has just jumped to the top of my favorite of London Saint James books.  I can’t wait to see what she has in store next.
